Caitlin Day, aka The Vagina Physio is a pelvic floor physiotherapist on a mission to educate and help women recover from pelvic floor dysfunction conditions, like bladder and bowel incontinence, prolapse, sexual pain, constipation, pelvic pain and other injuries relating to overexercise, mental challenges, pregnancy and the post-natal period.

The pelvic floor often only gets talked about during pregnancy or after giving birth. But all of us should in fact give this part of our body attention waaaaay earlier. We go to the gym to train our abs & booties, eat superfoods for our gut health, meditate for our soul… and forget to take care of the source of our life energy: our pussy. In one of our last episodes we looked at her from a bio-scientific perspective. In this one we are getting physical, babes!

Laura talks to vagina physiotherapist Caitlin Day about all the functions of the pelvic floor (and there are many!), the possible dysfunctions and which tools there are to keep it trained, happy & healthy

The pelvic floor is there to keep us from peeing our pants, right? And the tighter your pussy the greater the sex? Or is all of this bullsh*t and absolutely not the right (or only) intention for pelvic floor training? Caitlin gives very detailed and clear answers on these and many more questions. For example you’ll learn, our pelvic floor is connected to the rest of our body & soul  and therefore it all starts with your head. Boom: Relaxation, meditation and breathwork are your friend when starting to work with and for your pelvic floor.

Caitlin is a strong promoter of pelvic floor education as too many of us have absolutely no idea about it’s importance and how we can improve our sexual lives AND overall well being by giving it a bit more attention. We support this through and through and are stoked to have Caitlin on The Lalulah Podcast. There will definitely be more to come on this topic, stay tuned and for now, enjoy the show!
