Maria Abercrombie is the founder of the We Are Someone project, and a sexual abuse survivor who bravely shares an open conversation to promote healing for victims of sex abuse.

In this episode Maria and Laura chat over tea and blueberries about Maria’s journey of discovering the beauty that can come from the trauma of sexual abuse, under all the layers of pain, disgust and hardship.

Maria bravely share’s the deeply intimate details of her own experience, the confusion that can come from the broken trust of a loved one and how to work through this, the suppressed memories that can resurface later in life as a result of trauma, letting go of self blame and judgement, and the process of falling back in love with herself as a result of the call to heal when victimhood got all too much.

She discusses the idea of listening to your own inner voice, to your body, the importance of positive self-talk and how this intuitive approach to healing inspired her own journey.

Maria also shares her top tips from embracing self love, to welcoming in pleasure and a healthy sex life and celebrating her sweet bod after the birth of her beautiful baby boy.

This episode is very raw and real and may trigger some people, but is a lush resource for anyone navigating sex, love, life and healing after sexual trauma, or for those babe’s who are simply in need of some cheerleading in the self love department.

Enjoy babes.
